My interest in visual art began in early childhood in the creative atmosphere generated by my parents. As years went by I became certain that art was what I was supposed to do. Today I continue to make art primarily because of the satisfaction I find in creating.

Quilting and fiber constructions became my primary media when I became acquainted with Nancy Crow and her work during the late 1970s and early '80s.

My deep need to create is best expressed through color and texture. Attempting to capture visually the visceral communication achieved by music is a continuing challenge. I want my work to "sing".
