I am energized by the colors and textures of fiber, textile, paper, paint. I work to bring mixed media into an integrated whole that explores a technique or concept in a unique fashion. I desire to engage the viewer with intriguing uses of materials and a depth of perception that will help one to see the world with more insight. The classic forms of nature, especially leaves, fascinate me and drive me to work their elegant shapes and colors into compositions of beauty and thoughtfulness. Found objects, beads, shells, buttons, threads, fabrics all lend texture and richness to the surface of my "textile collages."

Hand and machine stitching are integral in my work as the qualities of both bring expression to the images I portray. Sometimes the materials themselves give birth to a visual expression I can develop. Design ideas abound in natural objects, landscapes, ethnic designs, everyday objects.
